A Unique Sustainable Store Design for Liquor chain, Dan Murphy's Batemans Bay by Catherine Nguyen

Earlier this year, Quasar Constructions collaborated with Project Managers, Fabcot to deliver a unique sustainable store design for liquor chain, Dan Murphy’s at Batemans Bay.

Despite the impact of the devastating bushfires which occurred at the beginning of this year, Quasar and our dedicated team of sub-contractors completed this project while highlighting sustainable elements. This includes Dan Murphy’s first electric vehicle fast charger, 4 star Greenstar rating, 60kW solar panels, rain harvesting system-potable, LED lighting, Arneg S.P.A. fridges with doors and air curtains at the entrance.

Welcome to Eastern Creek Quarter Shopping Centre! by Nidhi Kontham

Quasar is proud to celebrate the opening of the Eastern Creek Quarter Shopping Centre. The shared vision of Frasers Property and their architect, i2c, to create a community-based retail centre was brought to reality by the Quasar Team. It was fantastic to see the local community engage with the design as envisioned, in particular the communal areas of the outdoor-entertainment amphitheatre and street-food style dining spaces.

Success of Marist Catholic College South Hurstville by Nidhi Kontham

Quasar is proud to showcase our latest completed project, Marist Catholic College South Hurstville. One which combines state-of the art teaching and staff facilities, extensive play areas and landscaping for students along with the adaptive reuse of an existing heritage building.

With the successful completion of the project, students and teachers were able to transition smoothly into the 2020 school year. It was a pleasure to work alongside Aver Project Management and Munns Sly Moore Architects to provide a landmark development for our valued client, Sydney Catholic Schools.

Thanks to a team effort from Frasers Property, Quasar Constructions, I2c Architects, Henry & Hymas Engineers and all the site subcontractors - this 50,000m2 Retail precinct is starting to take shape.

Looking forward to the final push to completion in the coming months.

MOULDED PANELS AND BREAKFAST !! by Annie Worth

Last month the Quasar team visited one of our flagship projects- Eastern Creek Quarter retail development for Fraser Property. When complete, this 50,000m2 Retail Hub, designed by i2c Architects, will be home to Woolworths along with 40 other specialty stores and an outdoor playground area.

With the commencement of the structural steel and the installation of the molded decorative precast panels, the project is starting to take shape. The team were enthralled by the panels and gave this key design feature the “thumbs up “.

After the site tour, our senior project manager, Richard McMahon, displayed his culinary skills and provided a hot breakfast for all on a cold winter’s morning.

Watch out for more updates as this exiting project comes to a conclusion in the coming months.

BUY A BALE by Annie Worth

Across Australia there are thousands of farmers who need our help to keep their cattle, sheep and horses alive through one of the worst droughts in living history and after the cessation of live cattle exports, no wet season and fires.

Rural Aid is an organisation that supports rural communities suffering drought, fire and flood. They provide assistance to individuals and communities as a whole.

With programs such as “Buy A Bale” this allows us to provide Fodder, Farm Rescue and Farm Army to provide Farm Hand assistance.

"The Therry Building" The first stage of a 20-year Masterplan by Annie Worth

“The Therry Building” refurbishment is the first stage of a 20-year master plan to deliver a true campus style environment to St Ignatius College, Riverview. The master plan will reposition all teaching and community functions, more centrally away from the extensive heritage frontages by completion of this plan – only then will the true potential of the Riverview footprint be realised.

This first step was by no means, a small tentative movement. It was a bold and challenging stride forward - that will still be relevant at Master-plan's completion.

The capability of design to enhance educational environs through a construction envelope is never more important than the present day. The educationalists exhort us, and when achieved, creates a flexibility of space potential that is bench-marked by the clean delineation of the finishes – both internally and externally. Be that a composite metal product delightfully juxtaposed with an engineered timber resource, or “an omnium forum” that inspires all participants.

Architects always profess “form and function “as their true core values in design, and this project expresses that desire fully.

It’s not often the ladies from Quasar Head Office get to visit site, however Quasar’s Marketing Coordinator, Holly had the opportunity to see the final touches being completed a week out from handover to the College and who better to showcase their work than 1976 “Old Boy” Tim Perrignon (Quasar Site Manager) and John Chidiac (Site Manager).

THE GREAT POUR! by Annie Worth

The Great Pour.jpg

Last Thursday saw Quasar deliver our biggest concrete pour to date!

An area of 1840m2 and a volume of up to 800m3 of concrete was poured & placed as the finished slab to the Level 4 outdoor nursery of the Bunnings Caringbah project.

With over 80 men on site, 120 concrete trucks, and 2 concrete pumps strategically positioned, the boys dug deep and achieved an incredible result, all in a days’ work.
