condell park factory
Location: Condell Park
Client: Cormack Packaging
Cost: $5m
Cormack Packaging owns the property adjoining their new building, which although appearing to stand alone actually connects to their existing factory. Accomodating a plastic moulding facility producing food packaging, many safety features are essential, such as rapid roller doors between sections. The wall and floor finishes for the internal fitout required compliance with Australia Standard As4674-2001 (food processing) and accordingly involved the installation of hygienic ceiling tiles, epoxy wall and floor finishing and specialised services. For speed and cost efficiency a precast column and wall system (as provided by rescrete Industries) was adopted for the construction, together with structural steel roof framing. The office was constructed as a suspended slab with a car park beneath and ceilings were installed for dust prevention.
